Description
The Philadelphia Youth Sports Collaborative (PYSC), Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, EPYSA, U.S. Soccer, and the Center for Healing and Justice through Sport are partnering for a day of hands-on training for new and emerging youth soccer coaches in Philly. Sessions will focus on the fundamentals of positive coaching, youth development, trauma-informed practices, and technical soccer skill development to help coaches create safe, supportive, and engaging environments for young athletes.
Connect with fellow coaches, build confidence, and walk away with strategies to strengthen your impact in your community, both on and off the field!
Schedule:
9:30 - 11:30 AM (All participants) Trauma and the Brain: A primer for coaches working with developing soccer players
11:30 - 12:15 PM (All participants) Coaches' Luncheon
12:30 - 2:30 PM (For first-time soccer coaches) EPYSA's State Soccer Certification Course
12:30 - 4:30 PM (For experienced soccer coaches) U.S. Soccer's Grassroots 9v9 Licensing Course**
**Please note: Registrants for U.S. Soccer's Grassroots Licensing Course must also register for their license through the USSF and complete an online pre-course program
